With an already outstanding skyline built upon over a century in New York City, it’s set to continue its evolution throughout 2024 and coming years.
These are a few of the projects set to start throughout 2024…
Fordham Landing:
This massive $2.5 billion project will span over a mile along the Harlem River waterfront in the Bronx. The first phase, kicking off in spring 2024, will include a 23-story, 350,000-square-foot community facility with medical and educational spaces, a new Metro-North station entrance, a pedestrian bridge, and a public waterfront esplanade. Later phases will bring around 2,500 apartments, office and retail space, and a boat rental site. This project is expected to be a major boon for the Bronx, creating jobs, improving transportation access, and providing much-needed green space and amenities.
615 West 57th Street:
This luxurious three-tower mixed-use development will rise above Midtown Manhattan, offering stunning views of Central Park. The project will feature 1,200 apartments, including 180 affordable housing units, as well as retail and dining spaces. Construction is set to begin in early 2024, with completion expected in 2026. Designed by award-winning architect Bjarke Ingles Group, 615 West 57th Street promises to be a new landmark on the New York City skyline.
3875 Ninth Avenue:
This 30-story mixed-use tower will bring over 600 units of affordable and middle-income housing to Inwood, Manhattan. The development will also include 62,000 square feet of retail space and 122 parking spaces. Construction is expected to begin in mid-2024. This project will help address the city's need for affordable housing and revitalize the Inwood neighborhood.
Moynihan Train Hall Expansion:
This expansion will add new tracks, platforms, and passenger amenities to the beautiful Moynihan Train Hall. The project will also improve pedestrian flow and connections to surrounding subway lines. Construction is slated to begin in late 2024. Once completed, the expanded Moynihan Train Hall will be a more efficient and welcoming gateway to New York City.
Penn Station Redevelopment:
This ambitious project aims to transform the notoriously cramped and outdated Penn Station into a modern, world-class transportation hub. The plans include a new 250,000-square-foot, single-level facility with improved passenger flow, expanded retail and dining options, and better connections to other transit lines. The redevelopment is also expected to revitalize the surrounding area with new office buildings, hotels, and public spaces. While the exact timeline is still being determined, some aspects of the project could begin in 2024.
