Our client, a leading general contracting company based in Dallas, Texas, is currently seeking a highly skilled Chief Estimator to join their team. This firm have a dependable reputation, with an outstanding portfolio to show for it. Our client has been a trendsetting, award winning general contractor for over 100 years, working on a multitude of projects from education, commercial, Healthcare, Residential, Hospitality and retail.

Responsibilities:

-Manage and oversee the estimating team, including hiring, training, and mentoring team members

-Develop and maintain the company's estimating procedures and policies

-Review project plans and specifications to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate

-Prepare detailed cost estimates, including labour, material, and equipment costs

-Analyse and evaluate subcontractor bids and proposals to ensure competitiveness and completeness

-Provide technical guidance and support to the estimating team and other departments as required

-Participate in project handover meetings to ensure a smooth transition from estimating to project execution

-Maintain a current understanding of market trends, material costs, and other factors that may impact project costs

Requirements:

-Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field

-5+ years of experience in construction estimating

-Experience working as a Chief Estimator for a main contractor

-Strong leadership and management skills

-Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

-Ability to work well under pressure and to tight deadlines

-Proficiency in using construction estimating software and tools

-Good understanding of construction contracts and their implications on estimating
